Red@28th Opening in Dilworth!
I’ve been so excited to share info on this new business! I know we’ve all been wondering what was going to take the place of the spot where People’s Market was (that has seemed to be such a challenge for many restaurateurs over the years). Maybe a switch away from culinary scene is just what this spaces needs…For all of you literary and bookstore-hang-out lovers – the addition of this concept will have you racing down East Blvd to check out Red@28th.
This super-cool bookstore concept is expanding and bringing their unique approach to a literary lounge to Dilworth! A “multi-cultural literary lounge”, their goal is to provide the Charlotte community with a sense of unity and positive change.
And there’s lots to do at Red@28th – you can use the hookah bar, enjoy a drink or coffee, browse books, cozy up in a reading nook, do some work using their WiFi, catch up with friends on the patio, meet a client for lunch, and so much more! Be on the lookout for the food menu; with influences from New York, Cajun-style, and Southern dishes.
During the week, they regularly host events such as trivia and game nights, artist exhibitions, book signings, and karaoke. Currently there are 2 location opening in Charlotte (with their flagship store in Greenville, SC).
Located on the corner of East Blvd and Scott Ave (the old People’s Market location) Red@28th is set to open Feb. 4th! Owner, Darren “Jaz” Vincent, hopes that Red@28th remains a gathering space for Dilworth as it was in its People’s Market days.
